What is therapy?

How We Help

In therapy, you’ll learn valuable skills that will help you understand yourself, express your needs in safe relationships, set boundaries, break repetitive unhealthy family patterns, and work through difficult emotions.

We are here to help.

Who We Help

Identify the roots of anxiety, build understanding and develop a sense of safety.

Counseling for Depression

Work through your deep emotions, set strategies to regulate mood, and explore issues in your past that are affecting your present.

Counseling for Children

Improve resilience, expand emotional vocabulary, and learn to build healthy attachments.

Counseling for Teens & Emerging Adults

Explore difficult feelings, set healthy boundaries, and learn to communicate in relationships.

Shelby Duce (she/her)
M.A., LPC

Hi, I am a licensed professional counselor and received my Master of Arts in Counseling degree with an emphasis in marriage, couples, and families from MidAmerica Nazarene University in May 2021. My background is in non-profit work and elementary education.

I was drawn to therapy because of the unique relationship it provides. There is a complex beauty in being able to sit across from someone, build trust with them, and engage with them in their story.

My longing and hope is that my clients feel comfort and peace as soon as they enter the therapeutic space; that they would find solace and freedom – a place where they can simply be.
When I am not seeing clients, I love to spend time with my family, watch a good movie, spend time with friends, and go out to breakfast or drink a good cup of coffee. I am a firm believer in approaching therapy and healing holistically – our minds and our bodies are so connected. My goal is to guide you towards healing, integrating both the body and the mind through a trauma-focused, person-centered, attachment-based, and emotionally focused approach.
I am so looking forward to meeting and coming alongside of you on this journey toward wholeness and healing.
Areas of focus: trauma and PTSD, women’s issues (self-esteem, identity, relational conflicts, body positivity), anxiety, perinatal care, and disordered eating.
