Frequently Asked Questions

DO NOT TOUCH

Anxiety can show up in many ways; racing thoughts, flutters in your chest, worrying about worst-case scenarios, inability to focus, fear of failing, and so much more. Anxiety can be a constant we don’t even know we’re living with. Not so fun fact: Anxiety often gets misdiagnosed as ADHD which prolongs your ability to get the help you need. At any age, anxiety can be present and prevent you from going to school, test anxiety, performing at work, enjoying your family, or living your day-to-day life. We can help reduce your anxiety so you can live the life you want.

I’ve never been to therapy. How can I prepare for my first session?

The best way to prepare for your first session is to complete all of your paperwork. Next think of some things you would like to talk about in your first session and the reasons at which you are seeking therapy. There are no expectations for you to have anything “figured out” thats what we can help you with.

How long will I be in therapy?

You and your therapist will determine together the length that is expected given your presenting concerns. To set your expectations, anywhere between 6 months and 3 years.

What can I expect during my therapy sessions?
With the exception to Play Therapy, most of your sessions will be talk therapy. Meaning, that it will feel like a conversation where we will explore patterns, feelings, and thoughts that are causing you distress.
I would prefer not to do therapy in person. Can I see my therapist virtually?
Absolutely. We offer telehealth appointments to all of our clients who choose to do so. This is a great option for anyone who works from home but also not limited to these individuals.
I’m an adult seeking therapy for a minor. How can I expect to be involved as a parent/guardian?
This will be up to you and the therapist. When reaching out to the therapist please feel free to communicate how involved you would like to be.

How much does therapy cost?

Session prices differ based on each individual therapist. Check out our therapist page to see our pricing information.

Do your therapists accept my health insurance?

We are out of network providers. This means that we don’t accept your insurance plan but we do provide you a superbill upon request that you can submit to your insurance for reimbursement.

What if I don’t think my therapist is a good fit?
Sometimes this happens. Just like all relationships, sometimes it just isn’t a good fit. I would first recommend that you speak with your therapist about your concerns. They can address them or they can help you find someone that might be a better fit for your needs.  If that feels a bit too intimidating, reach out to our contact form and we can help you as well. Our main priority is your growth and we want you to be the right fit.
I’m interested in doing therapy together with someone else (a partner, a parent/child, a sibling, a friend). Is this something you offer?

Definitely. We help families, partners, parent and child conflict, roommates, etc. When you reach out to your therapist or through our contact page make sure to give a brief description of who therapy is for.
